Mr. Schroeder is a Theatre Teacher and Senn's Arts Liaison. He produced and directed Senn Arts’ first musical, Avenue Q and has directed The Wiz,The Lion King, Bite-Sized Broadway, Once On This Island, and Mind Games in partnership with After School Matters and Chicago Opera Theater for Teens @ Senn. Other Senn productions include: An Evening of August Wilson (Victory Gardens), Waiting for a Dream Deferred, Self-Centered (Raven Take Flight), Remembering 9/11: Perspectives, and The Fair of a Thousand Faces (Bailiwick Chicago).
Mr. Schroeder is also founder and chair of the Chicago Youth TheatreFest, an adjudicated event that brings students from the City of Chicago together to observe, present, improve, and celebrate works of student theatre and connect students to college and career opportunities in the theatre arts.
Prior to teaching, Mr. Schroeder worked for over 10 years as a theatre professional as an actor, singer, choreographer, director, teaching artist, administrator, and writer. He has a BA from UW-Madison with a double-major in Theatre & Drama and Radio/TV/Film, and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from DePaul University.
